Every year during Eid-ul-Adha, Muslims around the world perform Qurbani in remembrance of Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah. As online Qurbani services like Qurbani Easy have grown in popularity, a frequent question comes up among donors: if the sacrifice is arranged through a platform rather than performed by hand, does the spiritual reward (sawab) change?

Islamic scholarship is clear that the reward of an act of worship is tied to sincerity of intention (niyyah) and correct execution — not to who physically carries out the act. A well-known hadith states: “The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions” (Sahih al-Bukhari 1). For what the fatwa sources say about appointing a wakil, see what the fatwa sources say about appointing a wakil.

What matters most is that the sacrifice is carried out correctly: a healthy, eligible animal, slaughtered according to Islamic guidelines, with Bismillah said at the time of sacrifice. Whether this is done by the donor themselves or by a wakeel acting on their behalf, on a farm nearby or in another city entirely, the religious requirement is fulfilled the same way — as long as the intention behind it is sincere.
