Quick Answer: Feed the Birds and Feed the Fish are Sadqah in Nature products: feed is given to birds or fish on your behalf, and a video is provided. Reports in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim describe reward in kindness to living beings and in what birds and animals eat from a Muslim’s planting; this guide quotes them exactly and states nothing beyond them.

Not every Sadqah has to be a large sacrifice. Many people also want a small, regular way to give on behalf of parents, children or someone who is unwell. Feeding birds and fish is one of the simplest. Here is what the hadith collections say, how the products work, and what we do not claim.

What the hadith reports say

1. Reward in serving any living being. Abu Huraira reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) told of a man who gave water to a dog suffering from thirst; Allah thanked him and forgave him. The people asked, “O Allah’s Messenger! Is there a reward for us in serving the animals?” He replied, “Yes, there is a reward for serving any animate.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 2363; the same account is in Sahih al-Bukhari 6009)

2. A bird eating from a Muslim’s crop is charity. Anas bin Malik reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, “There is none amongst the Muslims who plants a tree or sows seeds, and then a bird, or a person or an animal eats from it, but is regarded as a charitable gift for him.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 2320; also Sahih Muslim 1553a)

These reports are about kindness to living beings and about what a bird or animal eats being counted as charity. They are the reason many Muslims treat feeding animals as a form of Sadaqah. We do not issue a legal ruling on the products beyond what the reports say; if you have a question about your intention or the category, ask your scholar.
