A Note on Validity
Appointing a wakil (authorized representative) to perform Qurbani on one's behalf is a well-established practice under the principle of tawkeel. The Prophet ﷺ himself had part of his own sacrifice completed by someone else during the Farewell Hajj (Sahih Muslim 1218a) — that example is from the Hajj sacrifice (Hady), a related but separate occasion from the annual Eid-ul-Adha Qurbani, cited here as evidence for the underlying principle of delegation. Darul Uloom Deoband has confirmed that organisations may act as a wakil for Qurbani donors, including handling and distributing the meat (Fatwa 2572/1930=H/1429, via IslamQA).
