Many Indian Muslims living outside India — for work, study, or family reasons — still want their Qurbani performed at home, with the sacrifice reaching families who genuinely need it. Qurbani Easy makes that possible without requiring the subscriber to be physically present. This guide explains exactly how that works: what stays the same wherever you are, what to expect at each step, and what to check before you book — if this is your first time, see our complete first-time Qurbani guide.
Can You Arrange Qurbani in India While Living Abroad?
Yes. A subscriber based outside India can complete the entire booking process online — choosing the Qurbani option, providing booking details, and paying — without needing to be in India at any point. The Qurbani itself is still performed and distributed entirely inside India, exactly as it would be for a subscriber booking from Mumbai or Kerala. Nothing about the sacrifice, its execution, or its distribution changes because the person booking it happens to be abroad.
The one practical condition is payment: booking depends on having access to one of the payment methods currently supported at checkout. We cover this in detail below, because it’s the part most likely to actually affect whether someone abroad can complete a booking.
Qurbani Easy Operates Only in India
It’s worth being direct about this: Qurbani Easy does not operate outside India, and it does not offer Qurbani services in any other country. The animal is sourced in India. The sacrifice is carried out in India, under Shariah-compliant supervision by Qurbani Easy’s on-ground team. The meat is distributed to families in India who need it.
A subscriber’s location has no bearing on any of this. A subscriber who is temporarily or permanently outside India may arrange a booking, while the Qurbani service itself is carried out entirely within India — from sourcing through to distribution, the service stays exactly where it has always been.
Why Subscribers Abroad May Choose to Arrange Qurbani in India
There are a few practical reasons someone living outside India might specifically want their Qurbani arranged there rather than wherever they currently live:
They can’t personally coordinate it in India. Arranging a sacrifice from a distance — finding a trustworthy local contact, confirming it was done correctly, making sure the meat reaches the right families — is difficult without being there in person.
They want distribution handled locally and properly. Families in India who rely on this meat are the intended recipients; a subscriber abroad often has no independent way to manage or verify that distribution themselves.
They want a documented process. Booking online creates a clear record of what was booked, for whom, and when — useful when you’re not there to oversee it directly.
They want to know when it’s done. A booking that includes some form of completion update removes the uncertainty of not being present.
It fits around family and logistics. For many subscribers, a family member’s obligation, a parent’s wish, or a specific hometown connection makes booking in India the natural choice, regardless of where the subscriber themselves is living.
How Booking From Abroad Works
The process is the same whether a subscriber is in India or elsewhere:
1. Choose your Qurbani option. Select the animal type and booking option that fits your needs — a full animal or a Hissa (share) booking.
2. Add the name(s) the Qurbani is for. On the booking page, you enter the name (niyyah) the Qurbani is being performed on behalf of. You can add more than one name in the same booking if needed, each with its own quantity.
3. Provide your contact details. At checkout, you’ll be asked for your name, mobile number, email address, city, state, and PIN code. These are your own contact details for booking and communication purposes — they are not used to choose where the Qurbani itself is performed. Animal selection and execution are handled entirely by Qurbani Easy’s on-ground team according to Islamic eligibility criteria, not by subscriber preference for a specific location or animal.
4. Complete payment. Pay securely through one of the supported payment methods (see below).
5. Review and accept the terms. Before completing the booking, you’ll be asked to read and accept Qurbani Easy’s Terms & Conditions and Distribution Policy.
There’s no separate booking path for subscribers abroad, and no additional documentation required simply because you’re outside India. For the full walkthrough of this process, see how to book online Qurbani through Qurbani Easy.
Paying While You Are Outside India
Qurbani Easy currently accepts payment through two methods: Airpay (cards and net banking) and UPI. Both process payments in Indian Rupees.
A subscriber living outside India can arrange a booking online, provided they can use one of the payment methods currently supported at checkout — for example, an Indian bank account, a UPI-enabled account, or a card that Airpay accepts. Whether a specific foreign-issued card will work depends on your bank or card issuer, not on anything Qurbani Easy controls, so it’s worth having your payment method ready and confirming it works at checkout.
To be clear about what’s currently available: Qurbani Easy does not currently offer a dedicated international payment gateway, foreign-currency checkout, or PayPal. If you have access to Indian banking or a UPI-enabled account — which many NRIs do — payment is generally straightforward. If you don’t, it’s worth checking with your card issuer before booking.
Qurbani Options Available in India
The animals available for Qurbani through Qurbani Easy are Goat, Sheep (where currently listed), and Buffalo, with Buffalo available either as a full animal or as a Hissa (shared) booking. There is no Camel option.
Sadaqah Qurbani — a separate, voluntary form of sacrifice that can be given at any time of year rather than only during Eid ul Adha — has its own set of options and is not covered in this guide.
Understanding Hissa Qurbani
A Buffalo Hissa booking divides one buffalo into seven shares. Each share is booked and tracked individually, which makes Hissa Qurbani a practical option if you want to fulfil your obligation, or arrange it on behalf of a family member, without the cost of a full animal.
When booking, you can add one or more names, and specify the quantity for each — so a single booking can cover a share for yourself and separate shares for other family members in one transaction, each recorded individually. This is particularly useful for subscribers abroad arranging Qurbani on behalf of several people back home in a single, trackable booking rather than several separate ones. See how Qurbani Easy ensures Hissa Qurbani is handled properly for more detail.
What Information Do You Need to Book?
Booking requires only ordinary contact and booking information: your name, mobile number, email address, city, state, and PIN code, plus the name(s) the Qurbani is being performed for. Qurbani Easy does not require any identity document, KYC document, or uploaded proof of identity to complete a booking — whether you’re booking from India or from abroad. A separate guide covers this in more detail for subscribers who want to know exactly what’s required before they start.
Booking Certificate and Completion Proof
Once your booking is placed, Qurbani Easy issues a Booking Certificate confirming the details of your booking — this is a separate thing from the completion proof described below, not the same document.
Every Qurbani booking also receives time-stamped confirmation of completion, shared via WhatsApp within 5 days. For most options — including Standard Goat and Standard Full Buffalo — this confirmation includes video. Standard Buffalo Share bookings currently receive photo confirmation rather than video. The Premium options (Premium Goat, Premium Buffalo Share, and Premium Full Buffalo) currently offer same-day photo and video confirmation, with individual share-wise video for Premium Buffalo Share bookings specifically.
This works the same way regardless of whether you’re booking from India or from abroad — there’s no separate or reduced confirmation process for subscribers overseas.
How Distribution Works
Under Qurbani Easy’s Distribution Policy, the meat from your Qurbani is distributed to poor and deserving families in India according to Qurbani Easy’s distribution process — no meat is delivered to the subscriber under any circumstance, whether that subscriber is in India or abroad. Animal selection and the sacrifice itself are handled by Qurbani Easy’s on-ground team, and distribution follows the same process for every booking, regardless of where the person who booked it is currently living.
Before Booking From Abroad: Quick Checklist
Before you book, it helps to have the following ready:
Your Qurbani option decided — Goat, Sheep, full Buffalo, or a Buffalo Hissa share.
The name(s) for the booking — whose Qurbani this is being performed for, and how many shares or quantities you need for each name.
Your contact details on hand — name, mobile number, email, city, state, and PIN code.
A payment method you know works — an Indian bank account, UPI-enabled account, or a card you’ve confirmed Airpay will accept.
A few minutes to read the Terms & Conditions and Distribution Policy — acceptance is required before a booking can be placed.
Conclusion
Living outside India doesn’t change how your Qurbani is performed — it only changes how you arrange it. With the booking details, a working payment method, and a few minutes to complete checkout, a subscriber can arrange their Qurbani in India, performed and distributed exactly as it would be for any other subscriber.
