Quick Answer: You can book an Aqeeqah on the Qurbani Easy website for a relative’s newborn by writing the child’s name on the booking form. Before you do, one question comes first: who should perform the Aqeeqah? The fatwa sources we opened name the father (Hanafi) or the person responsible for the newborn’s expenses (Shafi’i) and none of them speaks about a gift from a relative, so speak with the parents and ask your own scholar first.
A new baby in the family often brings the same question from grandparents, uncles, aunts and friends living in another city: can we arrange the Aqeeqah for them? Booking is simple, but the religious question deserves a clear answer first. This guide separates the two: what is a booking matter (names, options, date, proof) and what is a fiqh matter (who the Aqeeqah is for), with sources for the second.
First: who should do the Aqeeqah?
We answer this fully, with named sources and school differences, in our guide on who can do the Aqeeqah. In short, the Hanafi and Shafi’i sources we opened place the Aqeeqah on the father or on whoever is responsible for the newborn’s expenses. For the Maliki and Hanbali schools we did not find a source we could open, so we do not state their view. None of the sources we read covers a relative booking it as a gift.
A practical step that needs no ruling: talk to the baby’s parents before you book, and ask a scholar you trust if you are unsure. If the parents want to book it themselves, you can still help with the cost in whatever way your scholar advises.
Choosing the option
- Aqeeqah Economy: a she-goat, one name for each goat, video and photographs with confirmation of completion.
- Aqeeqah Standard: a he-goat, one name for each goat, video and photographs with confirmation of completion.
- Aqeeqah Special: a buffalo, up to 7 names for each buffalo (the first name is required), no video or photographs of the sacrifice, only photographs of the meat distribution.
Prices change from time to time, so see current prices on the Aqeeqah page. This guide does not repeat them.
Filling the booking form for someone else’s baby
- Write the child’s name in the name field. For a goat, each extra name adds one more goat and its price.
- Choose a Preferred Date if you want one (optional, at least one day from today). Otherwise the Aqeeqah is performed on our regular schedule.
- Enter your own name, city, state, PIN code, mobile number and email in the billing details: the booking email comes to you.
- Pay with UPI QR code or Airpay. Qurbani Easy does not accept payment from outside India; a family member or relative in India can complete the booking and payment on your behalf.
After you book
Your booking email shows when your payment is confirmed (until then the booking is on hold), and the booking page linked in that email, which asks you to verify your email address, shows the current booking status. If your payment gets stuck or is not confirmed, our team will contact you. When the Aqeeqah is completed you receive a confirmation email; what else you receive depends on the option: Economy and Standard include a video and photographs with confirmation of completion, and Special (buffalo) has no video or photographs of the sacrifice, only photographs of the meat distribution. The meat is 100% distributed to people in need.
For timing questions (7th, 14th, 21st day), read why the 7th day is considered afzal and Aqeeqah or Sadqah for a newborn. Booking is open throughout the year.

• Muftionline (Hanafi), “Questions on aqeeqah” — islamqa.org — the child’s Aqeeqah is done by the father.

Madhab note: Hanafi and Shafi’i sources are shown side by side; we did not find an openable source for the Maliki or Hanbali schools. No source we opened speaks about a gift from a relative. Booking facts (options, proof, payment) come from the Qurbani Easy booking pages and Terms and Conditions.
